We are learning about the country France. The students were excited to create a model of the famous Eiffel Tower using only marshmallows and toothpicks. This week we will also learn about France's flag, foods, and artwork.
For our Valentine’s Day boxes we will be using cereal boxes. Please save a cereal box AT HOME and in a couple of weeks, we’ll send home the paper for you to wrap it with and then send the box to school. If you have any extra boxes to share, please send them to school with your child. We will decorate the box at school. I will send a list of students' names home soon in case your child would like to send valentines to their friends. As I am posting this the wind chill temperature is -25 degrees, but we know it will get warmer! I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the opportunity to ice skate in our town. Below I added the days and hours that the warming house is open and skates are available. This is a great way to get kids out and enjoying our winter here without much snow.
Today, on the back of your child's Weekly Practice Page, you will find a Tic Tac Toe Homework Idea page for the month of January. We would like to continue to boost 1st grade reading and math skills through fun and innovative ideas. Have fun! Thank you for all you do, your patience and effort are appreciated. |
