Math Our class also finished journal one of our math books. There were many smiles as these were placed in cubbies to go home. It will be exciting to get our new math books tomorrow to see what is in store for the rest of the school year. Please continue to practice money counting and telling time. Reading We are learning words with long vowel patterns: ai, ay, ee, ea, oa, oe, etc. Please continue to read the practice sheet that comes home every Monday. Also rereading daily sheets that come home are wonderful practice and the students get stickers for them if you initial it. Can you believe we have been in school for 100 days already? We celebrated by working together to read 100 books. Some other favorite activities were putting together 100 piece puzzles and creating with sets of 100 pieces.
The great staff at Albany Dental invited all the first graders to visit their office. They taught us about brushing and flossing to avoid cavities. We learned which are the best foods for our health and our teeth. We will continue to learn about dental health at school the last week in February.
As part of Snow Days week, students dressed up as their favorite book character. Here they are reading about themselves! Do you know who they all are?
