Hello! Here are few updates for this week...
*Math Homework for Tomorrow/Tuesday: I sent home a sheet today for you to help your child fill out. We will use this sheet during math. This is a great time to help your child start to memorize phone numbers and addresses. Please return it tomorrow. Thanks!! *Reading Homework: Today attached to the Speak-up you'll see several short vowel stories. Please help your child read the words on the top and then the stories. Please support your child as much as needed. Please feel free to "Echo Read" them if needed (you read the word/part of the sentence/or the whole sentence and have your child repeat it back). *Wednesday, September 25: PICTURE DAY! Please send back your envelopes any time if you are ordering and I'll hang on to them. *Starting Monday, September 30, you'll receive a new homework sheet most Mondays. It will contain the high frequency words we are working, fluency words or sentences, and spelling practice. Please practice this sheet several times a week. We will take spelling tests on Fridays unless otherwise noted. We spent a lot of time the first few days of school going over rules and routines. It is nice to now start new activities and learning.
*Just a reminder that we do not serve birthday treats at school anymore. If your child has a favorite book they would like me to read to the class, please send it to school on their birthday. *Starting next week your child will bring home paper books with our new or review sight words in them. If they read the book to you, please sign it and return it back to school so they can get a sticker for it. I will send the book back home after they get their sticker. It would be a great idea to store these books in a box at home and reread them many times. *Albany Elementary has a recycling program called Trash 2 Cash. Students are encouraged to bring in the following items to promote recycling and raise money for their school! Items such as GoGo squeeze pouches get sent to a company where they are up-cycled into other materials. The goal of the company is to keep plastic out of landfills. Pop tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald house. Thanks for collecting! -Box Tops for Education -Country Hearth Bread bags (UPC codes) -GoGo squeeze pouches -Pop Cans/Pop Tabs -Teal’s receipts -Kwik Trip Milk Caps -Markers |
