This week we have been reading a variety of books with the same story line as The Three Little Pigs. We talked about the characters, settings, and events in these stories. We compared them to each other. Another topic of discussion were the shelters that each of them made. We talked about why some were better than others to withstand the enemy in the story. Today each group of students were given the same supplies with the directions to make a strong shelter that can stand up to the big bad wolf trying to blow it down (my hairdryer). They had one hour to complete their shelter. Supplies Building "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!"
All of the houses stayed standing on the low setting and everyone that dared the high setting withstood the blowdryer as well! We all agreed that this was a fun project! |
