Also with the cold dry weather, many students have chapped lips. They may keep some lip balm in their desk to apply as needed. Please continue to work with your child over the break: *Tying shoes independently *Memorizing their address & phone number/s *Reading *Math-math facts & counting coins (Penny, Nickel and Dime) *Spelling *Outdoor play activities Please be sure to label all of your child's winter clothing. This helps when things get misplaced. Thanks! Have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Today your child is bringing home a set of paper dominoes. Please encourage them to play Domino Top It with someone. Each person picks up a domino and adds the two sides together. The person with the higher sum takes both dominoes. This is a great way to practice math facts. After several times they should be able to recognize dot patterns and know how many without counting and also remember some math facts without counting or adding on. Continue to have you child reread any paper readers that come home. They include sight words we are practicing and letter patterns. I have seen wonderful progress from each student already this year. Thank you for your support at home!
