I just wanted to give you a few math topics to cover with your child over the next few weeks. A few minutes spent on one of these at night when you read over your reading sheet will be great practice for your child. Skip Counting -Counting by 2s to 40+ -Counting by 5s to 110+ -Counting by 10s to 110+ *If your child has mastered these, please have them work on counting backward by these patterns. Money *Couting combinations of nickels and pennies. If your child has mastered this, please add the dime and quarter. (Counting combinations of coins with quarters isn't a first grade mastery skill, but we work on it a lot throughout the year) *Addition & Subtraction facts through 12 are always good to work on too. -You can do this with traditional flash cards -Flip over two playing cards and add or subtract them MobyMax *Coming home today you'll see a sheet titled "Welcome to MobyMax". This is a fact practice tool we use at school. There are also many other topics covered by MobyMax that you are free to explore. This can be done on a computer, iPad or tablet. (If you're using an iPad, you can create a button for this page so it looks like an app. Here's how: Go to the website, then near the top of the screen there will be a box with an up arrow. Press that and scroll until you find "Add to home screen". Then the MobyMax symbol (2X) should appear. Then follow the directions on how to login from the sheet I sent home. Sorry, I don't know how to do it on a tablet.
